PRESIDENT BOLA Tinubu has approved the immediate reassignment of Pro-Chancellors and Governing Council Chairmen for Federal University Oye-Ekiti and Federal University Lokoja, a move aimed at enhancing diversity and national unity in university governance.

Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, who previously served as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, will now oversee Federal University Oye-Ekiti.

Similarly, Engineer Kayode Ojo, formerly Pro-Chancellor at Federal University Oye-Ekiti, will assume responsibilities at Federal University Lokoja.

This directive, confirmed by Presidential Spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, reflects Tinubu’s broader strategy to strengthen the leadership and management of the nation’s tertiary institutions.

The decision seeks to align university administration with the President’s vision of fostering inclusivity and leveraging diverse expertise for institutional growth.

The Federal Government’s move underscores its commitment to equitable representation and robust leadership in Nigeria’s higher education system, positioning the institutions for enhanced collaboration and innovation.
