CELEBRATED FOR his transformative impact on African business, Dr Mike Adenuga Jr. received high praise from Presidents Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria and John Mahama on his 72nd birthday.

The two Presidents lauded the business magnate, recognising his vast contributions to economic growth, innovation, and pan-African enterprise.

Both leaders also issued heartfelt tributes to the Chairman of Globacom, describing his achievements as pivotal not only in Nigeria and Ghana but across the continent.

Their messages reflected admiration for Dr Adenuga’s entrepreneurial vision, his tenacity in business, and his unyielding commitment to excellence.

President Bola Tinubu applauded Dr Adenuga’s achievements across banking, telecommunications, and the oil and gas sector.

He particularly cited the trailblazing role played by Globacom in democratising access to digital and mobile services across Nigeria.

“His pioneering of per-second billing revolutionised telecoms and brought millions into the digital fold,” Tinubu noted.

Tinubu also praised Conoil’s strong positioning as an indigenous oil firm capable of competing with global players. “Conoil has proven that an indigenous firm can compete with international oil companies, fostering energy independence and security for our country,” he stated.

Reflecting on Dr Adenuga’s expanding international footprint, Tinubu commended his investments in Europe and other African nations.

He noted that such ventures had earned the businessman high honours, including France’s Commander of the Legion of Honour and Ghana’s Companion of the Star of Ghana.

On his part, Ghanaian President Mahama called Dr Adenuga’s life “a shining example of vision, resilience, and extraordinary accomplishment.”

He emphasised that the business tycoon’s ventures have done more than create lasting commercial empires—they have tangibly uplifted African communities and economies.

He also highlighted Adenuga’s philanthropic record, describing it as a “beacon of inspiration” for current and future generations across Africa. Dr Adenuga’s strategic investments, Mahama added, continue to foster economic inclusivity and innovation.

Presidents Tinubu and Mahama both extended birthday wishes to Dr Adenuga, commending his contributions to economic development, entrepreneurship, and investment across multiple sectors within the continent and beyond.
