TO ALLEVIATE hunger and support the vulnerable, Fidelity Bank PLC has distributed food packs to women, widows, children, and other at-risk groups in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

This distribution is part of the bank’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities under the “Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.”

During the event, which was organized in partnership with the ABBASID Charity Foundation, Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head of Brand and Communication at Fidelity Bank, highlighted the bank’s dedication to community support.

“Since April 2023, when we launched the Fidelity Food Bank initiative, we have distributed over 100,000 food packs in more than 100 communities nationwide. This reflects our commitment to the wellbeing of our host communities and our support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, and 3, which focus on poverty eradication, zero hunger, and good health and well-being,” Nwagboh said.

Hajia Hauwa Abbas, Founder of the Abbasid Foundation, praised the initiative, noting the positive impact it has had across various states including Jigawa, Zamfara, Zaria, Kebbi, Bauchi, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“I am very pleased with Fidelity Bank because, as much as they are doing business with us in our community, they are also giving back to us, especially women,” Abbas stated.

The event also received support from Sen. Wadada Ahmed, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, who contributed additional food items for the community. Represented by his wife, Zainab Wadada-Ahmed, the senator emphasized the importance of philanthropy during these challenging times. “We are here today to give back to our people. Considering the hardship in the country, this is the little that we can do. I appeal to well-meaning Nigerians to collaborate and see how we can help those who are less fortunate,” she said.

One of the recipients, Mrs. Susan Nyikwagh, expressed her gratitude and urged other organizations and individuals to follow Fidelity Bank’s example.

“This gesture from the bank and its partners is highly appreciated. I encourage others to support the vulnerable in our society,” she remarked.

Serving over 8.5 million customers through 251 business offices in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, Fidelity Bank has established a robust presence in the banking industry.

Known for its comprehensive digital banking channels, the bank has garnered numerous accolades, including Export Finance Bank of the Year at the 2023 BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards and Best SME Bank Nigeria 2022 by the Global Banking and Finance Awards.

Ranked among Nigeria’s best banks, Fidelity Bank continues to set high standards in customer service and financial innovation.
