FRESH INCENTIVES for children took centre stage at Wema Bank’s Children’s Day Special Event as the bank unveiled new benefits under its Royal Kiddies account and ALAT Xplore platform.
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the announcement came on Monday, May 25, 2026, during the event where Wema Bank’s One Day MD and CEO, Chinmamanda Diamond Ozoakpata, introduced a series of initiatives aimed at rewarding, educating and empowering children across different age groups.
The bank stated that what began as a Children’s Day celebration had evolved into a platform focused on building confidence, encouraging leadership, promoting financial literacy and creating opportunities for children.
Among the initiatives announced was a birthday cash gift programme for active Royal Kiddies account holders turning five and 10 years old.
Children turning five will receive N5,000, while those turning 10 will receive N10,000 automatically as birthday cash gifts.
The bank also stated that the initiative will run from May 2026 to May 2027, adding that active account holders who turned five or 10 before May 2026 this year would also receive their rewards this month.
It also announced a N100,000 reward for the top 100 students in the National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and announced that the initiative is scheduled to commence in June 2026.
To qualify, the bank stated that beneficiaries must rank among the top 100 performers in the examination and hold a Royal Kiddies account.

At the event, the bank also launched Money Adventures, a financial literacy book created for children aged six and above, stating that the book was designed to simplify conversations around money and introduce young readers to saving, money management and responsible financial habits in an engaging and age-appropriate format.
It further stated that children with active Royal Kiddies accounts or newly activated accounts would qualify to receive copies of the book, as it also unveiled the Evolve School Tour STEM Challenge for secondary school students between ages 13 and 17.
According to the bank, the programme will run across six schools nationwide with existing STEM programmes and will feature hands on STEM competitions and school engagements aimed at promoting innovation, technology awareness, financial literacy and responsible savings culture.
It again, added that monetary prizes would be awarded at the end of the challenge but stressed that participants must be ALAT Xplore customers aged between 13 and 17 and attend one of the participating schools with an active STEM programme.
Stressing that it had consistently expanded its Children’s Day initiatives over the last four years through school tours, Wema Bank said it believes in leadership experiences, financial literacy campaigns and the One Day MD and CEO initiative.
It concluded the release by stating that this year marked the first time its Children’s Day initiative would run for an entire year.
