Will We Ever Rise Above Ethnic Bigotry and Corrupt Politics?

YES, GOVERNMENT has to come from the bottom to the top, and not the other way round; a classic example of how in true federalism the local government should run.

In United States of America (USA), this fact is glaringly demonstrated.

Also, the multiplier effects of a true grassroot democracy are unimaginable.

I wrote in my previous articles that in USA, there are three levels of government, and each level of government operate independently, but with a synergy to collaborate and complement each other efforts.

In the USA, it is a fallacy and unthinkable to opine that the states are funding the local government authorities.

Even some of the big cities like New York City or Chicago are richer than the states.

Again, on this tropical issue, Punch editorial board goofed!

Fact is fact!

Yes, Tinubu may have an alterior motive, but he might not know that he has “shot himself in the foot”, because the notion of deepening democracy in the grassroot will create great awareness of good governance for the people at the grassroot.

It is called political consciousness.

This in effect may mark the end of “Baba Sope Politics (imposition)” and allow the electorates to choose their leaders.

Hmmm, the people at the grassroot level will defend their votes against bad governance the moment they started seeing the dividends of democracy.

Yes, Power Belongs to the People. Gbam!

The will of the People Must Prevail. Gbam!

Yes Vox Populi, Vox Dei.

Time will tell.
