THE 2024 Vintage Fashion Competition, a partnership between Polaris Bank and Amtis Skills Place, young Nigerian designers found a platform to showcase their diverse couture talents.

The initiative supports youth entrepreneurship by blending creativity with vocational training in a competitive environment.

Participants, aged 18 to 35, displayed their prowess in vintage-inspired fashion.

Teams comprising designers, makeup artists, and models collaborated to craft garments celebrating classic fashion eras.

Judges evaluated creativity, craftsmanship, teamwork, and adherence to the vintage theme, with the goal of identifying future industry leaders.

Wuraola Robert emerged as the top winner, receiving ₦500,000. Second and third-place winners secured ₦300,000 and ₦200,000 respectively.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony that highlighted the participants’ entrepreneurial potential.

Polaris Bank’s Managing Director, Kayode Lawal, underscored the organisation’s commitment to youth empowerment. He promised an expanded event next year, with increased prizes and opportunities for young entrepreneurs.

Omotunde Adebusola, Managing Director of Amtis Skills Place, praised Polaris Bank’s unwavering support.

She noted that the competition bridges the gap between traditional education and modern industry needs.

The competition exemplifies Polaris Bank’s drive to foster innovation and sustainable careers in Nigeria’s creative industries.

Their role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises has earned them accolades, including the MSMEs Bank of the Year award by Business Day.

Participants left inspired to build successful fashion careers, reflecting the partnership’s transformative impact on Nigeria’s entrepreneurial landscape.
