HIGH-LEVEL policy engagement under the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 will be convened in Abuja by Sterling One Foundation (SOF) in collaboration with the Office of the Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FGN), the United Nations System and summit partners.

JKNewsMedia.com reports that the engagement will take place on Wednesday January 28, 2026, at the State House Conference Centre Abuja.

SOF, in a statement, noted that the session will bring together senior government leaders, chief executives, development partners, investors and civil society leaders to advance results driven partnerships for inclusive growth, foundational learning, women and youth empowerment and national development delivery.

The engagement, also co-hosted by the Office of the Vice-President and SOF, will serve as a national platform to translate continental commitments into country level action by aligning policy reform, private sector mobilisation and development finance around Nigeria’s priorities.

These priorities include education, jobs, skills, financial inclusion, health, entrepreneurship and institutional strengthening.

The convening is themed Scaling Action Driving Inclusive Growth through Policy and Innovation and is expected to bring together over 200 senior leaders from government, private enterprise, development institutions, civil society and the diplomatic community.

SOF further said the engagement is designed to drive policy reforms, unlock innovative and blended financing and accelerate implementation across Nigeria’s most critical development priorities, with five years remaining to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Now in its fifth year, the ASIS has become a private sector led continental platform for mobilising public private collaboration to accelerate progress on the SDG, according to SOF.

It also said that the summit, focusing on policy innovation, partnerships and impact financing in addressing social and economic challenges across Africa, is building on translating insights and recommendations from past ASIS communiqués into actionable national policies and financing frameworks.

The engagement aims to embed ASIS commitments into Nigeria’s policy ecosystem, elevate priority sectors as national imperatives and mobilise capital toward measurable SDG outcomes.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, SOF, Mrs Olapeju Ibekwe, the ASIS 2026 represents a shift from conversation to national execution through alignment of policy, innovation and financing to deliver impact for millions of Nigerians.

She adds that the event will feature the adoption of the Women and Youth Financial and Economic Inclusion (WYFEI) Nigeria as its declaration, will be endorsed by government leaders, chief executives and development partners as a coordinated action to unlock women and youth potential.

Ibekwe also said that the SOF engagement will reinforce Nigeria’s leadership in translating continental and global commitments into national action and forms part of the ASIS national action series focused on systems reform, capital mobilisation and measurable impact, in addition to other key highlights to be unveiled at the event.
