Gov Diri Approves N300,000 Grant for Bayelsa Law Students, Promises Continued Support

BAYELSA LAW students across all Nigerian law school campuses have received a financial boost, with the state government approving N300,000 for each student to ease their financial burdens.

Governor Douye Diri approved the grant for each student, aimed at easing their economic challenges to boost their academic success.

The governor’s approval was announced during a meeting with representatives of the Bayelsa State Law Graduates Forum in Yenagoa.

Governor Diri, represented by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Biriyai Dambo (SAN), stated that the decision underscores his administration’s dedication to advancing education and improving the welfare of Bayelsa’s students.

Dambo explained that the grant is not only a response to the rising economic pressures but also a means to motivate students to excel in their studies.

“This approval reflects Governor Diri’s unwavering commitment to education and the future of Bayelsa’s youth.

“It is designed to cushion the economic hardship while enabling you to concentrate on your academic pursuits,” Dambo said.

He urged the students to remain diligent and make the most of the opportunity.

“You have a bright future ahead, but it requires hard work and focus. Your success will make your families and the state proud,” Dambo added.

Imomotimi Annabel Godspower, who spoke on behalf of the students, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Diri for prioritising their welfare and education.

She described the grant as a much-needed support that will ease the challenges of their academic journey.

Godspower also extended appreciation to the Attorney-General for facilitating the approval process, which highlights the administration’s commitment to education at all levels.

Th state government notes that this initiative follows a series of programmes implemented by the Governor Diri’s administration to enhance access to quality education and improve student welfare across Bayelsa State.
