HEARTFELT CONGRATULATIONS has been expressed to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, following her reappointment as Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Okonjo-Iweala, a distinguished Deltan from Ogwashi-Uku, earned widespread respect for her tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, where she led the country out of foreign debt during her first term under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Governor Oborevwori, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, acknowledged Okonjo-Iweala’s exceptional career in economics and international development, highlighting her work on economic reforms, poverty reduction, and global trade.
The Governor noted that her unopposed reappointment is a testament to her outstanding performance in her first term. Oborevwori further extended his prayers, wishing Okonjo-Iweala continued success as she represents Delta State and Nigeria on the global stage.
