Delta Governor Stresses Commitments to Development During Project Inspection, Condoles with Ometan Community

GOVERNOR Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to comprehensive development in the state in alignment with his MORE Agenda during a project inspection of Friday.

Accompanied by key officials including the former Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, and the Speaker of Delta House of Assembly, Hon Emomotimi Guwor, Oborevwori emphasized the equal commitment to both riverine and upland communities.

Projects scrutinized during the inspection comprised a Lecture Hall at Nigeria Maritime University Okerenkoko, an internal road in Kokodiama, drains in Kuru, Warri South local government area, and construction endeavours at Model Secondary School, Ogulagha in Buruty local government area.

Governor Oborevwori disclosed that the contractor had been mobilized with 25 percent of the project cost and commended the progress achieved, as he encouraged continued support from the populace.

Regarding the Model Secondary School Ogulagha, Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the project’s quality and highlighted its significance for riverine education.

In another development, the governor expressed condolences to the Ometan Community in Okpe local government area following a tragic tanker fire accident that claimed seven lives when a fuel-laden tanker overturned alone Warri-Sapele Road.

Visiting the accident scene alongside key officials, including the Speaker and a former Chairman of the local government council, Oborevwori extended sympathies to the affected community, acknowledging the gravity of the situation and the loss of lives.
