FREEDOM TO transact globally has returned for Fidelity Bank Plc customers, as the tier-one lender has confirmed the resumption of international transactions on its Naira Debit Cards.

The announcement provides customers with the opportunity to make seamless payments abroad, online, and at ATMs outside Nigeria.

Explaining the development, Ifeoma Onibuje, Divisional Head, eBanking, Fidelity Bank Plc, stated that the bank was pleased to reopen this service.

“We are delighted to inform the public that Fidelity Naira Cards are now enabled for global use.

This means that our travelling customers can now utilise their Naira Debit Cards outside the country to shop, spend and withdraw internationally without hassles,” she said.

Onibuje noted that customers can now spend up to $1,000 quarterly for international point-of-sale and online transactions and withdraw up to $500 quarterly on international ATMs.

“This reinstatement expands transaction options for customers, alongside the bank’s existing foreign currency debit and credit card offerings,” he adds.

Fidelity Bank confirmed that this aligns with its commitment to delivering practical solutions that fit seamlessly into the lifestyles of its growing customer base.

According to the bank, both its VISA and Mastercard Naira Debit Cards now give Nigerians effortless global access. Beyond payments, Fidelity VISA cardholders also benefit from premium travel and lifestyle perks.

These include airport lounge and spa access through the Visa Airport Companion App, fast-track immigration lanes at selected airports, and a 20 per cent discount on car rentals with SIXT worldwide.

Fidelity Bank emphasised that this step underscores its commitment to providing secure, convenient, and reliable banking services that empower customers both in Nigeria and abroad.

To make the experience simple, the process of obtaining a Fidelity Naira card has been streamlined. Customers can apply for either the Fidelity VISA or Mastercard Naira Debit Card through the Fidelity Mobile App, or by visiting the nearest branch, after which they can begin international transactions with ease.

Ranked among the leading commercial deposit money banks in Nigeria, Fidelity Bank serves more than 9.1 million customers through digital channels, 255 business offices across the country, and its United Kingdom (UK) subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited. The institution highlighted that its continuous focus on innovation and customer-centric solutions positions it as a trusted financial partner.

The bank’s track record of recognition reinforces this position. Fidelity Bank has received several local and international awards in 2024.

These include the Excellence in Digital Transformation and MSME Banking Award at the BusinessDay Banks and Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards, the Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application Award for its Fidelity Mobile App from Global Business Outlook, and the Most Innovative Investment Banking Service Provider Award by Global Brands Magazine.

Additionally, the bank was named Best Bank for SMEs in Nigeria at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence, and Export Financing Bank of the Year at the BAFI Awards.
