THE REMAINS of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari will be interred at 2.00pm on Tuesday, 15 July, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State.
Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State confirmed the arrangements at the Government House on Monday, shortly after returning from London, where he met with the late leader’s family.
He said Buhari’s body will arrive in Katsina by midday on Tuesday, ahead of the afternoon burial.
Radda, who addressed journalists alongside Buhari’s nephews Fatuhu Mohammed and Musa Haro, as well as former aviation minister Hadi Sirika, explained that the decision followed consultations with close relatives in London.
The former president died after a prolonged illness while receiving treatment in a London hospital.
He had served as Nigeria’s democratically elected president between 2015 and 2023, having earlier governed the country as a military head of state from January 1984 to August 1985.
