RIVERS STATE has witnessed significant political turbulence in recent years for which Governor Siminalayi Fubara attributes his leadership triumph to divine intervention and unwavering public support.

He shared this at the Christmas Ballad hosted by former Governor Dr Peter Odili at his residence, where political and community leaders gathered.

Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to God for providing a new direction amidst the crises.

He highlighted how faith and the trust of Rivers State residents gave him the strength to navigate challenges.

He pledged his administration’s commitment to ensuring a prosperous 2025 and sustained governance excellence.

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Oko-Jumbo, reflected on the unforeseen crises that rocked the Assembly but praised Governor Fubara for uniting them with his leadership.

Dr Abiye Sekibo, former Minister of Transport, commended the Governor for upholding the leadership legacy of Dr Odili, whose political family remains influential in the state’s stability.

Dr Odili, in his welcome speech, lauded Governor Fubara for his resilience in overcoming existential threats to his leadership.

He expressed confidence in the Governor’s ability to deliver transformative governance. Justice Mary Odili added to the celebrations by presenting gifts to the Governor’s family and acknowledging his impactful role in state leadership.

The evening concluded with Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission chairman appreciating the Odilis for hosting the reunion and Governor Fubara for his enduring commitment to the state.
