LOWER INTERNATIONAL calling costs are now available to Globacom subscribers following a significant reduction in the company’s International Direct Dialling (IDD) rates.
The telecommunications provider confirmed that the revised rates took effect on 10 August and apply to more than 15 frequently dialed destinations.
According to the company, customers can now make calls to the United States for N30 per minute, down from the previous N35. Calls to the United Kingdom (UK) have dropped from N400 to N350, while rates to India have been cut from N45 to N40 per minute.
The adjustments, Glo noted, reflect its commitment to providing competitive pricing and greater value for both new and existing subscribers.
Several other destinations also recorded substantial reductions. Calls to the United Arab Emirates now cost N325 per minute, reduced from N450.
Rates to China stand at N75 per minute, Saudi Arabia N300, Cameroon N700, and Germany N550 per minute.
The company stated that these changes make it more affordable for customers to maintain international connections for personal and business purposes.
The rate review also extends across Africa. Glo confirmed that calls to Benin Republic now cost N650 per minute, Niger Republic N750, Ghana N500, Togo N650, and Côte d’Ivoire N700.
Calls to Libya remain N700 per minute, while Malawi now costs N1,100, reduced from N1,200.
Globacom explained that the reductions form part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing its international call services.
It said the new pricing structure will enable subscribers to communicate with friends, family, and business associates abroad without being constrained by high tariffs.
The company further disclosed that additional International Direct Dialling bundles will soon be introduced, providing even more cost-effective options for customers who make frequent overseas calls.
By lowering rates across multiple regions, Glo said it is positioning itself as a preferred choice for international communications.
The company also emphasised that the updated pricing applies automatically to all qualifying calls made from its network, requiring no special activation by customers.
