CONCERNS OVER boundary encroachments and security in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area have been addressed by Governor Dapo Abiodun, who assured residents that no part of Ogun State would be surrendered to neighbouring Lagos or Ondo states.

The governor made this promise during a meeting at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta with representatives from the local government, including traditional rulers, technocrats, and prominent officials.

According to Prof. Segun Awonusi, former Commissioner for Education, the governor has taken decisive steps to handle reported land incursions into areas such as Ode-Omi and Makun.

He emphasized the governor’s commitment to maintaining the state’s territorial integrity and ensuring peace through improved security measures.

Further discussions revealed Governor Abiodun’s plans to address critical infrastructure needs in the region.

Hon. Abdul Balogun, former Commissioner for Environment, confirmed that the Dau-Ibiade-Abigi-Efire-Makun-Ilisin road will be rehabilitated immediately.

Additionally, plans to restore electricity, build a naval base, and advance the Olokola Deep Sea Port were highlighted.

Governor Abiodun also expressed his commitment to advocating for the inclusion of Ogun Waterside in the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project.
