RIVERS STATE Governor Siminalayi Fubara has refuted claims circulating on social media that a delegation from the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) and former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited him at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Sunday, 16 March 2025.
In a statement, the governor’s office described the reports as “spurious claims and obvious fake news,” alleging that they were planted by individuals’ intent on causing disorder in the state.
It emphasised that no such visits took place and urged the public to disregard the misleading information.
Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to implementing the Supreme Court judgment on the state’s ongoing political crisis.
He stated that while his administration had initiated the necessary processes to comply with the ruling, the Rivers State House of Assembly had refused to cooperate, creating further challenges in resolving the issues.
Despite these obstacles, the governor assured the public that he remains ready to take the necessary steps to ensure the smooth functioning of all government institutions in the state.
He reiterated his dedication to peace, good governance, and development in Rivers State.
