RELEASE OF results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has commenced, with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) stating that candidates can check their scores via SMS.

JKNewsMedia.com reports that JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement, advised candidates to send UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration to access their results.

He stated that candidates can only view their results at this stage, adding that printing is not yet available.

The Board noted that the 2026 UTME, which began on April 16, will continue until April 22 across centres nationwide.

Benjamin stated that the official result slip, which carries the candidate’s passport photograph, full scores and details required for admission processing, will be made available for printing on the e Facility portal at efacility.jamb.gov.ng at a fee of N1,500.

He outlined that candidates would need to visit the portal, log in with their registered email address and password, click on Print Result Slip on the dashboard, proceed with payment of N1,500, select 2026 as the examination year, enter their registration number, then download and print the slip once activated.

The statement advised candidates to ensure they have at least N50 airtime on the phone number linked to their registration before sending UTMERESULT to 55019 to receive their scores via SMS.

It also urged candidates who have forgotten their password or email address to use the Forgot Password option on the portal or visit a JAMB office with their registration details.

JAMB also advised candidates to keep multiple printed copies of their result slip, noting that institutions typically request it during screening and admission, and urged the use of only official websites to avoid scams.

It cautioned candidates against manipulating SMS results received from its official platforms to fabricate or alter scores.

“Such actions constitute a serious criminal offence as the Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity,” the statement said.

JKNewsMedia.com also reports that JAMB spokesperson reminded other students that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for engaging in result falsification using AI and other electronic means, warning that any candidate found culpable would face the full consequences of the law.

It further stated that the examination is ongoing and results will continue to be released as they become available.

Benjamin noted that 2.2 million candidates sat for the 2026 UTME nationwide and confirmed that results for candidates who sat for the examination on April 16 would be available before midnight on Friday, April 17. —
