PROMINENCE IN Nigeria’s construction industry was once again reaffirmed as Julius Berger Nigeria PLC emerged for the tenth consecutive time as the Most Valuable Building and Construction Services Brand at the 2025 Top50 Brands Nigeria Awards.
The recognition came with a Brand Strength Management (BSM) score of 55.4, cementing Julius Berger’s leadership position in the nation’s building and construction sector.
The feat marks a decade of consistent brand excellence, innovation, and reliability across Nigeria’s engineering landscape.
Chief Executive Officer of Top50 Brands Nigeria, Taiwo Oluboyede, said during his address that the company’s continued success underscores its unrivalled expertise, landmark projects, and unwavering commitment to sustainability.
According to him, Julius Berger’s work goes beyond engineering, representing a partnership in nation-building and a vital contributor to Nigeria’s infrastructure transformation.
“Julius Berger has consistently maintained its position as one of the most valuable and trusted engineering and construction brands in the country,” Oluboyede stated.
“Its landmark projects, engineering excellence, and contribution to national development continue to set the benchmark for the sector.”
Oluboyede noted that Julius Berger’s record of excellence and contribution to nation-building earned its representative a seat among the panelists at the event.
Receiving the award on behalf of the company, the Director of Administration, Alhaji Dr Abdulaziz Kaita, expressed appreciation to the organisers, acknowledging the diligence involved in the selection process.
He said the 2025 recognition marked the tenth time Julius Berger has received the honour, describing it as a reflection of the company’s commitment to quality service, customer satisfaction, and excellence in project delivery.
“Consistent awards such as this show our dedication to innovation and effective brand management,” Kaita stated.
He emphasised that such recognition inspires Julius Berger to continue delivering on its brand promise across all facets of its operations.
During the panel discussion themed “From Challenge to Opportunity: Projecting the True Naija Spirit,” Kaita joined other industry leaders to deliberate on how strong corporate brands can help shape a positive narrative for Nigeria while advancing national value creation.
He highlighted Julius Berger’s long-term engagement with youth empowerment initiatives aimed at preparing young Nigerians for future challenges.
“When you look at the CEOs of companies like Google, Microsoft, and Dell, one thing stands out — they all got to where they are through training,” Kaita said. “In Nigeria, about 70 percent of our population is under 30 years old.
“That is a huge potential waiting to be harnessed.
If we can channel the energy, creativity, and talent of young Nigerians through structured training and academies, the results will be transformative. That is why training is essential.”

He explained that the company’s Julius Berger Academy remains a vital platform for building future talent and driving national development.
“We need to invest in our young people just like we are doing at Julius Berger Academy, where we train young Nigerians to build the future. That is how we unlock the real strength of our nation,” he said.
Delivering his goodwill message on behalf of the company, Kaita also reiterated the importance of backward integration for sustainable national growth. “At Julius Berger, we have invested in Nigeria,” he said amid applause.
“We have a furniture factory in Abuja, AFP, which produces some of the best luxury furniture in Africa. We have ABUMET, which specialises in aluminium and glass products.
“If all of us can invest in the local market, we can help our young people get employed.”
In recognition of the company’s contribution to the nation’s skyline and infrastructure development, IAMBRANDNIGERIA paid tribute to Julius Berger, describing it as “the brand that literally built Nigeria’s skylines, strong, silent, and defined by work that speaks in skyscrapers and good roads.”
The award was presented by a member of the Advisory Board and Principal Partner of Jasek Communications Limited, Barrister Joseph Okonmah, supported by Oluboyede.
Among other notable experts in attendance were the Chief Executive Officer of Ladybird Advertising, Mrs Bunmi Oke, and Mrs KC Shanmuga Priya, a Research Advisor to the organisers.
