CABINET STRUCTURE in Oyo State government has undergone a major reshuffle as Governor Seyi Makinde reassigned five commissioners across pivotal ministries.

The reorganisation, announced in an official letter signed by Chief of Staff Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi on Monday, took effect immediately.

Under the new arrangement, the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Seun Ashamu, will now head the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.

His predecessor in the Environment portfolio, Hon Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, has been transferred to the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport.

Former Public Works Commissioner, Professor Dahud Shangodoyin, has been reassigned to oversee the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The Education, Science and Technology portfolio also saw a shift, with Professor Solihu Adelabu now tasked with leading the Ministry of Establishments and Training. In turn, the former Commissioner for Establishments, Honourable Segun Olayiwola, will assume responsibility for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

Chief of Staff Ogunwuyi confirmed that the changes are to be implemented without delay. He relayed the governor’s charge to the commissioners to continue executing their duties with unwavering loyalty and dedication to the progress of the state.
