MOVES TO close Nigeria’s metering gap have entered a new phase with the opening of the application portal for Power Force, an initiative under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at expanding the country’s certified meter installer workforce.
JKNewsMedia.com that the initiative seeks to build a new generation of skilled and certified professionals to support Nigeria’s electricity transformation.
It invites young Nigerians to join the workforce that will power homes, fuel businesses and light up communities across the country.
The release stated that the current pool of certified meter installers is insufficient to address the estimated 7 million metering gap nationwide.

To support the closure of the metering deficit within the next two years, the administration is training an additional 5,000 installers.
The release said the trainees will receive training from the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria and certification from the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
It added that the programme will expand the national installer pool while creating meaningful income opportunities for trainees as they support large scale meter deployment across the country.
