Introduction:
Nigerians remain opposed to campaign messages on rallies and security but show less opposition to political violence, raising concerns about public engagement on peaceful and credible elections.
Report:
IN THE continuation of our public reception tracking of campaign messages, we have again discovered that Nigerians are maintaining their oppositional stance on rally and security issues being discussed by stakeholders. We gained this understanding from an analysis of posts published by media aides and supporters of candidates, which attracted reactions from Nigerians.
Further analysis indicates a less oppositional stance towards messages relating to political violence. In this regard, our analysts observe that Nigerians need to engage candidates and their supporters more on this issue, as it is one of the elements that shape the conduct of peaceful and credible elections.
