WITH MOVES aimed at fostering economic empowerment among Nigerian youths, the NNPC Foundation has selected 2,659 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to advance to the final phase of its Business Pitching Exercise.

Scheduled from July 2nd to 10th, 2024, this initiative is part of the NNPC Foundation’s broader effort to enhance financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills among young graduates across Nigeria.

Led by Mrs. Emmanuella Arukwe, Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, the selection process focused on evaluating the feasibility, market relevance, innovation, scalability, and potential community impact of business ideas presented by corps members.

“These 2,659 individuals have been identified as ready to present their business ideas to a distinguished panel of assessors,” Arukwe affirmed.

The NNPC Foundation’s Financial Literacy Programme aims to equip Nigerian youths with essential skills for personal and professional development, emphasizing financial management and entrepreneurial spirit. By empowering corps members to create sustainable business ventures, the program seeks to positively impact Nigeria’s economic landscape.

During the pitching exercise, standout projects will receive valuable support including startup packs, business advisory services, and opportunities for further expansion.

In a related initiative, the NNPC Foundation has facilitated a 50% reduction in the registration fees for corps members’ businesses with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

As NNPC Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility arm, the NNPC Foundation continues to play a pivotal role in promoting youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development across Nigeria.
