OUTSTANDING FILMS and creative performances received top honours as the maiden Redeemer’s International Christian Film Festival (RICFF) 2026 and the RCCG International Creative Conference (RICC) concluded in Redemption City under the theme “The Overcomers.”
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the five-day event ended with screenings, panel discussions, plenary sessions and an awards ceremony celebrating excellence in feature film, short film, animation, music and special jury recognition from entries across the world.
“Finding Me” by Modupe Olorunjo won Best Feature Film, while “The Greatest Gift” by Dexter Hills received the Best Short Film award.
“Chijioke Onyinyechi Nnabuchi’s “An Eye for the Cross” emerged Best Animation, “He Is Coming” by Grace Olubunmi Oriade won Best Music Video, while “The Seal” by the Creative Christian Department, Edo Family received the Jury Special Award.

The festival held alongside the International Creative Conference (ICC) where discussions focused on advancing faith-based storytelling to global standards through plenary sessions and panel engagements.
In his speech, the keynote speaker, Dr Shaibu Husseini, Executive Director of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), urged creatives to bridge the gap between ministry and industry by combining purpose with technical mastery.
“When ministry meets mastery, when purpose meets professionalism, and when faith meets excellence, the result is transformative storytelling that not only entertains but also uplifts, inspires, and changes lives,” he said.
Dr Husseini challenged Christian creatives to move beyond mediocrity and meet global standards in scripting, cinematography, editing, sound and production design.
He noted that evolving audience expectations demand narratives that are compelling and technically precise.
Akin John, representing the National Overseer, Pastor Sunday Akande, delivered the conference charge on “To Overcome,” encouraging participants to confront sin, fear, offence and creative stagnation in fulfilling their calling.

The programme also featured panel discussions on collaboration, content development and the business of Christian filmmaking alongside cultural and drama presentations from various regions. Speakers repeatedly stressed the need for excellence across creative expressions.
Also, winning entries premiered before a live audience during the closing ceremony.
Christian filmmakers, cinematographers, producers, actors, directors and script writers attended the gathering, including Kolade Segun Okeowo, Austin Sam Uche Anyamele, Ewoma Luther Abegunde, Ayo Kassim, Tunde Oreniyi, Bimbola Ogunsanya and Olufemi Bolorunde, among others.
