AN AMBITIOUS N1.188 trillion budget has been proposed for 2025, focusing on inclusive growth and sustainable development in Rivers State.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara presented the budget to the Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA) during a session at the Assembly Auditorium, Administrative Block of Government House, Port Harcourt.

He said the budget proposal reflects a significant increase compared to the previous year’s allocation.

The Governor emphasised that the budget would drive economic growth, expedite state development, and uplift the living standards of residents.

He also noted that the projected revenue sources for the 2025 fiscal year include FAAC, Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Statutory Allocations, Mineral Funds, VAT, and other sources.

The Governor said they are committed to completing ongoing electrification projects in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas, while prioritising safety and security.

Victor Oko-Jumbo, Speaker of the RSHA, commended the Governor efforts and the over N100 billion generated through IGR, pledging the Assembly’s support for the budget’s swift passage.
