…Nigeria Qualifies for WAFU Semi with an Outstanding Matcu to Play
THE FLYING Eagles of Nigeria this afternoon in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast pecked the Sparrow Hawks of Togo 3-0 to fly straight into the WAFU zone B U20 Male football competition semifinal even with an outstanding game remaining.
Star boy, Abdulmuiz Adeleke who must be a destructive Caterpillar that wrecked the Black Satellites of Ghana with a brace last Monday again demolished the Togo Boys with a terrible brace.
Abdulmuiz had scored in the 47th minute after Togo held them to a standstill draw in the first half and went on to scoring the 2nd goal in the 60th minute.
While the Togo boys were looking tired and accepted defeat, substitute Abdoulaye Agboye walked into their net in the 87th minute for Nigeria’s 3rd goal.
Nigeria had on Monday dimmed the Black Satellites of Ghana 4-2 when Burkina Faso bursted the Sparrow Hawks of Togo 3-1. Ghana is playing Burkina Faso later today to know who probably will follow Nigeria into the semifinal that will bring the two other winners in Zone A of WAFU.
There will be an outstanding match between the Flying Eagles of Nigeria and Burkina Faso on 2nd August as well as between Ghana and Togo to finally decide the last Four teams that will represent WAFU at the continental level.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are current champions and three times zonal winners.
Nigeria has been seven times African champions; twice Silver Medalists and four times bronze medal winners making them a powerhouse at continental level playing with rival age groups looking forward to becoming stars like them.
