EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCES by three Nigerian students at the 2025 TeenEagle Global competition in London, United Kingdom, have drawn praise from President Bola Tinubu, who described their achievements as a testament to the nation’s educational potential.
Seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu was named overall best in English language skills, 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema emerged as overall best in debate, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli won the outstanding talent award, earning a gold medal.
In a statement on Wednesday, President Tinubu commended the trio for what he called “a feat that affirms the nation’s future is much brighter with many of its youth as repositories of excellence.”
He acknowledged their commitment and skill, adding that their success underscores the capacity of Nigerian education to produce some of the brightest young minds on the global stage.
The President also extended his commendation to the institutions of learning that nurtured the champions, noting that such results reflect the quality of teaching and mentorship available in the country.
He said his administration places education at the centre of national development efforts and has invested significantly in the sector, including removing financial barriers for indigent students through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
He encouraged the young champions to remain steadfast in their academic pursuits, urging them to continue developing their skills for even greater achievements in the future.
The TeenEagle Global competition, an international platform for young learners, tests participants in areas such as English language communication, debate, and talent showcase.
This year’s edition brought together students from across the world, with the Nigerian participants standing out for their exceptional mastery and presentation skills.
President Tinubu concluded his message by wishing Nafisa, Rukayya, and Hadiza continued success, emphasising that their triumph represents not just personal glory but a moment of national pride for Nigeria.
