ON THURSDAY, President Bola Tinubu approved the nomination of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), reinforcing its leadership and addressing existing vacancies.
Among those appointed are Mr. Olusegun Omosehin of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and Engr Wole Ogunsanya, a representative of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).
The President also endorsed the selection of Mazi Sam Azoka Onyechi, representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF), alongside Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
These nominations follow the departure of previous institutional representatives, ensuring the council remains fully equipped to oversee Nigeria’s local content development efforts in the oil and gas sector.
The NCDMB Governing Council was established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010.
It consists of representatives from several key institutions, including the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), PETAN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), NCCF, and NAICOM.
President Tinubu also urged the newly appointed members to utilise their expertise in strengthening local content policies within the nation’s energy sector, ensuring continued growth and sustainable development.
