To All My Mothers

By Faith Otito Akinnagbe

A MOTHER’s love is like a guiding light,
Warming our lives, day and night.
From tender hands that cradle us tight,
To gentle words that soothe our fright.

With every step, with every fall,
They’re there to catch us, through it all.
Their patience, kindness, and love abound,
Making our lives richer, without a sound.

Through laughter and tears, they stand by our side,
A constant presence, a love that won’t subside.
Their selfless hearts, a treasure rare,
A precious gift, beyond compare.

So on this Mother’s Day, we say,
Thank you, dear mothers, in every way.
For all that you do, for all that you are,
We honor you, with love from near and far.

~Otito, an upcoming poet, writes in from Lagos
