Trump’s First 100 Days Mark Surge in Jobs, Industrial Revival, and Hardline Foreign Policy

PRESIDENT DONALD Trump’s return to the White House has launched a presidency sharply defined by economic resurgence, nationalist policymaking, and an unapologetically assertive global posture—marking a striking departure from the multilateralism of previous administrations.

The 100-day milestone saw the administration hail an unexpectedly strong April jobs report, with 177,000 new positions added—emphasising its strategy of onshoring and manufacturing dominance.

A wave of corporate commitments followed, including Mercedes-Benz shifting production to Alabama, AstraZeneca repatriating pharmaceutical production, and Walmart bolstering support for domestic goods.

Legacy giants and emerging players alike poured billions into U.S. manufacturing. IBM committed $150 billion over five years; Pratt Industries, $5 billion with 5,000 new jobs; Kimberly-Clark, $2 billion; Corning, $1.5 billion; and Merck, $1 billion for a cutting-edge Delaware facility.

Amgen and The Bel Group announced major expansions, while the administration cited tax reforms like the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act as the engine behind these investments.

Trump’s First 100 Days Result:

Secured border with 93% drop in crossings, deported 135K+ illegal immigrants, signed 142 EOs, created 345K jobs, slashed regulations saving $180B, and unleashed American energy!

Immigration enforcement surged, with illegal border crossings reportedly staying near historic lows. Operations across states led to mass arrests, including over 1,000 detentions in Florida in a single week.

The administration secured deportation agreements with Central Asian governments and targeted gang-affiliated networks in Colorado.

The Department of Homeland Security’s enhanced operations extended to sanctuary jurisdictions, while new executive orders strengthened local law enforcement and increased accountability in immigration courts.

Trump’s foreign policy continued to blend pragmatism with unilateral strength.

A historic agreement with Ukraine gave the U.S. a role in the country’s postwar reconstruction, while new sanctions targeted those trading Iranian oil.

The White House celebrated the release of U.S. citizens from Belarus and Kuwait, adding to a total of 47 detainees freed since January.

Diplomatic breakthroughs included a joint peace pledge between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, while economic sanctions hit firms supplying missile materials to Iran.

In Yemen, U.S. agencies cracked down on maritime fuel deliveries to Houthi factions.

The administration moved aggressively to slash regulations and push American energy dominance.

Woodside Energy greenlit a $17.5 billion LNG project. The Environmental Protection Agency waived seasonal ethanol restrictions, allowing cheaper fuel through summer.

Multiple departments unveiled reforms aimed at cutting bureaucratic red tape and restoring state-level autonomy.

The Department of the Interior announced a tripling of hunting access across national wildlife areas, while the Department of Energy rolled back appliance restrictions, boosting consumer choice.

From repealing NPR and PBS funding to renaming military victory days, Trump’s executive orders reflected ideological realignment.

A new Religious Liberty Commission was established, and the FEMA Review Council launched to restructure disaster response protocols. Selfridge Air National Guard Base in Michigan is set to receive next-generation F-15EW jets.

The Department of Health and Human Services released a critical review of gender-affirming care, while the Department of Education launched investigations into alleged race-based discrimination at top institutions, including Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania.

The administration ended a longstanding land dispute case in South Dakota and designated two major Haitian gangs as foreign terrorist groups.

Beyond policy announcements, the tone and direction of Trump’s presidency suggest a recalibration of American power amid shifting global currents.

White House said his strategy—focused on economic nationalism, executive command, and a transactional worldview—has polarised opinion but resonated with constituents seeking a departure from post-Cold War orthodoxy.

But critics highlight damage to U.S. alliances and institutions.

Contrarywise, the White House said it’ll continue to pursue a model rooted in self-reliance, limited foreign entanglements, and sovereign enforcement—amid mounting debt and declining multilateral influence.
