UNITED STATES (US) President Donald Trump is set to convene his first “Board of Peace” summit in Washington, DC, as the newly launched panel faces scrutiny following months of Israeli ceasefire violations in Gaza.
JKNewsMedia.com reports that the meeting comes nearly three months after the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) approved a US backed ceasefire plan related to the war in Gaza Strip.
The plan included a two-year mandate for the Board of Peace to oversee reconstruction in the enclave and initiate what was described as an International Stabilization Force.
Among those present are Jared Kushner and Javier Milei.
Reports note that the summit takes place amid debate over the board’s role and its capacity to address conditions in Gaza under the terms outlined in the ceasefire framework.
