Wendy Shay to Feature on Glo-Sponsored CNN’s African Voices Playmakers

GHANAIAN SENSATION Wendy Shay, known for her dynamic presence in the music industry, will be spotlighted on this week’s episode of African Voices Playmakers, a 30-minute magazine show on Cable News Network (CNN), sponsored by Globacom.

Wendy Shay, born Wendy Asiamah Addo on February 20, 1996, transitioned from a career in midwifery and nursing to become a celebrated singer and composer.

Her unique blend of hip-hop, highlife, and Afrobeats has propelled her to the forefront of the Ghanaian music scene, with hits like “Uber Driver” and “Africa Money” earning her widespread acclaim.

The episode will delve into Shay’s journey, exploring the talent and determination that have driven her success, as well as the positive impact of her philanthropic initiatives.

Shay’s influence extends beyond music; she serves as a brand ambassador for Ghana’s Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and has been recognized with several awards, including the Best New Artiste of the Year at the Ghana-Naija Showbiz Awards.

African Voices Playmakers, featuring Wendy Shay, is set to air on Saturday at 8:30 a.m., with additional broadcasts at 12:00 p.m. the same day and on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Viewers can catch further repeats on Monday at 4:00 a.m., the following Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and again on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., as well as Monday at 4:00 a.m.
