Zuckerberg Outlines Meta’s Vision For Personal Superintelligence

META CHIEF executive Mark Zuckerberg has outlined plans to develop artificial intelligence systems that he says will give individuals unprecedented personal empowerment, calling the next decade a “decisive period” for superintelligence.

In a post on his official WhatsApp channel titled Personal Superintelligence, Zuckerberg said Meta is building AI capable of deeply understanding each user to help them achieve goals, enhance creativity, strengthen relationships, and reach their full potential.

“As profound as the abundance produced by AI may one day be, an even more meaningful impact will come from everyone having a personal superintelligence that helps you achieve your goals… and grow to become the person you aspire to be,” he wrote.

He contrasted Meta’s approach with other technology firms that focus on centralised AI systems to automate work, stating that his company aims to place superintelligent tools directly in users’ hands.

ntegration with devices such as augmented reality glasses that “see what we see” and “hear what we hear” is part of Meta’s plan to offer real-time, context-aware assistance in daily life.

Zuckerberg compared the potential of superintelligence to past technological revolutions, from the end of subsistence farming to advances that shaped modern science and culture.

He said AI could similarly free people from repetitive work, allowing them to focus on creative and intellectual pursuits.

Acknowledging safety concerns, he noted: “Superintelligence will raise novel safety concerns. We’ll need to be rigorous about mitigating these risks and careful about what we choose to open source.”

He said the coming years will determine whether superintelligence serves as a tool for personal empowerment or becomes a disruptive force that displaces workers.

“Meta believes strongly in building personal superintelligence that empowers everyone,” Zuckerberg added. “We have the resources, the expertise, and the will to deliver this technology to billions of people.”
