…Mali Sees Red in Surprise Draw with Comoros Group A.

HOSTS ATLAS Lions of Morocco on Monday night drubbed the Chipolopolo of Zambia 3-0 in the last Group A match at Rabat before their vociferous crowd, a performance that ousted the Zambians from the ACON 2025 tournament.

Mid fielder, Azzedine Ounahi found Ayoub El Kaabi in the 9th minute to score the first goal. The combo of Kaabi and Ounahi was fantastic to behold and that combination made Kaabi to get his brace when he fired in the 3rd goal in the 50th minute. Wonder boy, Brahim Daiz had scored the 2nd goal in the 27th minute.

Eagles of Mali surprisingly played a goalless draw with low ranked Comoros which book makers wondered as in the game of cricket, “Whatz that?”

However, Mali will miss the services of Amadou Haidara who plays for RB Leipzig and came in for Ousmane Camara in the 70th minute and after just 18 minutes of his playing (88th minute) he was flashed a straight red card for tripping an opponent who was goal bound.

Morocco topped group A with 7 points scoring 6 goals and conceding one; Mali still made second position with 3 points scoring 2 goals and conceding 2; Comoros is 3rd with 2 points scoring no goal and conceding 2 goals while Zambia posted a dismal performance with 2 points scoring one goal and conceding 4.

Tomorrow Tuesday Nigeria will trade tackles with the Ugandan Cranes and The Taifa Stars have a survival match against Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in group C at 5pm.

Group D will be on parade at 8pm when Cheetahs of Benin plays a difficult match against Teranga Lions of Senegal and ousted Botswana will play a formality match against DR Congo.

Group stages finish on New Year’s eve when on Wednesday Equatorial Guinea plays already qualified Algeria and Sudan tries the Stallions of Burkina Faso all at 5pm

Then at 8pm when Christians will be moving to various worship Centers all over the world for the Cross Over service, Gabon will play Ivory Coast and Mozambique will face Cameroon.
