SIGNIFICANT INFRASTRUCTURAL and economic advancements are reshaping Delta State, with transformative projects spanning multiple sectors under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, highlighted these developments during an appearance on a television magazine programme,” emphasising key infrastructural projects, social welfare programmes, and economic initiatives.

Aniagwu emphasised that Governor Oborevwori’s policies, grounded in continuity and innovation, have significantly enhanced education, healthcare, and job creation.

He noted that his inclusive governance approach has ensured steady development in various communities across Delta State.

“From road construction to agricultural reforms and youth empowerment schemes, this administration remains focused on delivering people-centred governance that improves the quality of life for Deltans,” Aniagwu stated.

He further highlighted the governor’s dedication to transparency, citing the whistle-blowing policy as a strategic tool for accountability.

According to him, the initiative, directly managed by the governor, has been instrumental in exposing corrupt practices and inefficiencies within the system.

Aniagwu also stressed that despite executing numerous projects, Governor Oborevwori’s administration has not resorted to borrowing in nearly two years.

He attributed this financial prudence to an efficient governance model that maximises the value of state revenue.

“When we say that Oborevwori is executing these projects without borrowing, it is not magic. It is a testament to a governance approach that prioritises financial discipline and strategic allocation of resources,” Aniagwu said.

Security remains a top priority for the administration, with the state government recently donating 30 brand-new Hilux vehicles to security agencies, following an earlier distribution of 30 vehicles.

Aniagwu noted that these efforts, along with intelligence-gathering enhancements, have bolstered security operations in the state.

Governor Oborevwori has also played a key role in resolving longstanding communal disputes, such as the Aladja/Ogbe-Ijoh crisis and issues in Ogwashi-Uku, through dialogue and commissions of inquiry.

These efforts, Aniagwu asserted, align with the governor’s agenda of fostering peace and security across the state.

Giving a direct response to critics, Aniagwu said the administration’s development strides serve as a resounding response to opposition figures attempting to downplay its achievements.

“Governor Oborevwori is focused on governance, and Deltans can see the results. While some engage in political distractions, he remains committed to delivering impactful projects,” he added.

With infrastructural expansion, social welfare improvements, and economic stability, Aniagwu insisted that the Oborevwori administration continues to position Delta State for long-term prosperity.
