A NATIONWIDE call to action is underway as the Federal Government activates the registration portal for the 2025 National Youth Conference, positioning it as a critical step in driving inclusive dialogue and transformative youth policy reform.
At a press briefing in Abuja, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, confirmed that the registration will run until 30 June.
He encouraged Nigerian youths, both at home and abroad, to register via the official conference website and actively participate in the virtual dialogue phase ahead of the deadline.
Themed “Next Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,” the conference targets 36,000 participants, offering a platform for young Nigerians to engage in structured dialogue on pressing national issues.
Organisers emphasised that the event is not a mere gathering but a strategic mobilisation of youth perspectives toward national renewal.
“This is more than a conference. It is a national movement, a generational turning point,” Olawande stated, noting that the event aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s broader agenda for youth inclusion.
He added that the initiative builds on momentum following the inauguration of the national planning committee on 10 March.
Olawande assured the public that the conference would not be reduced to empty rhetoric. “The 2025 Youth Confab is designed to generate real solutions through inclusive, youth-led dialogue,” he said.
Participants will first engage virtually, submitting policy ideas and recommendations through the online portal. A vetting and selection process will then determine which delegates are invited to attend the physical phase of the conference.
Chairman of the National Planning Committee, Olubunmi Olusanya, described the initiative as a pivotal mechanism for reshaping national policy in areas including employment, education, political inclusion, and healthcare.
“This is a structured avenue for young people to directly influence governance,” he said.
He stressed that the launch of the registration portal signifies more than logistical progress.
“The launch marks the beginning of a historic journey,” Olusanya said, describing the conference as a beacon of hope that invites young Nigerians to transition from protest to policy, and from challenges to lasting opportunities.
