MASSIVE PROGRESS is noted to be unfolding across Warri and Effurun as Julius Berger Nigeria Plc says it is intensifying work on the landmark Flyovers and Roads project awarded by the Delta State Government, towards maintaining its target to deliver on schedule despite seasonal challenges.
Signed in October 2023, the company notes that the high-value infrastructure contract covers the design and construction of three flyovers, a cloverleaf interchange, pedestrian walkways, and major road expansions.
The build duration was also set at 30 months under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who selected Julius Berger based on its performance record and unique expertise in challenging riverine terrain.
The three major flyovers, located at DSC roundabout, PTI junction in Uvwie Local Government Area, and Enerhen junction to Marine Gate in Warri South, are now in advanced stages of execution.

As of early June 2025, the DSC flyover reached 81.60% completion, PTI junction followed at 68%, while Enerhen junction stood at 32.41%, with delays attributed to the relocation of overhead high-tension cables.
Following the successful elevation of transmission lines above PTI junction, work resumed swiftly with beam launching and drainage installations despite unrelenting rainfall.
According to Project Manager Thomas Haug, the technical challenge with high-tension cables was a temporary obstacle.
He confirmed that the team is on track to finish the bridge structure and the adjoining roundabout by the end of July.
Construction activities are simultaneously unfolding across multiple fronts. At the PTI site, diversion roads and pipeline crossings are nearing completion, while stormwater drainages and lane widening advance steadily at Effurun.
Over at the Enerhen site, drainage construction and in-situ casting of the bridge deck have commenced with full crews deployed.
Despite frequent rainfall, workers continue operating in full capacity, reinforcing Julius Berger’s commitment to meeting the deadline. Site visits show significant mobilisation and resilience from engineering teams across the corridor—from DSC junction through Effurun to Warri.
Community sentiment echoes confidence. A security officer stationed near the Enerhen flyover praised the visible transformation, affirming public anticipation for project commissioning.

Residents, according to the project team, have shown strong support and enthusiasm for the upgrade, while the state government remains actively engaged in the project’s successful delivery.
Previously, the Warri-Effurun corridor had been reportedly long plagued by traffic bottlenecks and ageing infrastructure, but it is poised for a significant leap in urban mobility and visual enhancement once completed, the statement notes.
