STRONG PRESENCE defined last week’s Lagos twin expos as Julius Berger Nigeria PLC and its subsidiaries headlined the BIG 5 and ECOBANK events, showcasing innovation, craftsmanship, and an expansive project portfolio to industry stakeholders.

The BIG 5 event was staged at the Landmark Events Centre, while the ECOBANK Design and Build Expo took place at the ECOBANK Pan African Centre in Lagos.

The exhibitions brought together a wide array of industry leaders, investors, and professional audiences.

Julius Berger presented its subsidiaries including ABUMET, known for aluminium and glass solutions, PrimeTech Nigeria Ltd, the Julius Berger Excellence Centre, and Julius Berger Precast Services.

Each subsidiary unveiled new innovations and refined editions of products and services, affirming the company’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and technological advancement.

Facility Manager at the Julius Berger Excellence Centre, Aleksandar Serafimoski, said the unit’s diverse portfolio attracted strong interest.

“This is our second time attending the Expo and so far, a lot of visitors are interested and intrigued by the quality of work done in the unit and we are very optimistic that the Exhibition is achieving its purpose of being a good avenue for networking,” he stated.

He added that more companies were willing to collaborate at the corporate level, noting that the exhibition remained “a good platform to be seen in the construction industry.”

Commercial Manager for Julius Berger Precast Services, Christian Bauer, said the company was demonstrating its expansion into smaller-scale products.

“We are representing Julius Berger, and what we are basically trying to do is to showcase that we are branching out into smaller scales,” he said.

He explained that the unit now manufactures pavements and blocks alongside larger precast materials such as pipes and U-channels.

Head of the Architecture Department at PrimeTech, Joseph Abba, described the Expo as an important opportunity to reconnect with past clients and meet new ones.

“Thus far, we have met a lot of people we have worked with in the past and also people that we have worked for, and potential clients as well that have many projects lines upcoming and they need design services, especially due to the fact that they are fascinated about projects that we at PrimeTech have executed,” he said.

He added that the subsidiary also attracted interest from the oil and gas sector and from organisations prioritising sustainability, underlining potential for future partnerships.

Sales Manager at Julius Berger, Daniel Oladejo, said the BIG 5 event provided an effective platform to show the company’s versatility.

“Big 5 has been a very effective platform for the company to let visitors in on the fact that Julius Berger can handle any project no matter how intricate it is,” he said.

He emphasised that Julius Berger offered full-scale services from design and planning through to finishing, including exclusive high-security construction services for clients prioritising privacy and safety.

At the ECOBANK Design and Build Expo, AFP, the luxury furniture production arm of Julius Berger, drew considerable attention.

Its stand showcased high-quality office and domestic furniture, positioning the subsidiary as a centre of attraction throughout the exhibition.

On the closing day of the Design and Build event, Managing Director of Temolat Ventures, Chief Olusegun Ogundero, a business partner of AFP, described the expos as significant gatherings that underscored industry excellence.

Both events, he said, succeeded in drawing a broad spectrum of stakeholders and potential collaborators.

Across both venues, Julius Berger engaged visitors through virtual walkthroughs of landmark projects, live demonstrations of smart building technologies, and interactive discussions with company representatives.

The collaboration among its subsidiaries highlighted the company’s integrated approach, reinforcing its role as a comprehensive provider of engineering and construction solutions.

Head of Julius Berger’s Strategic Business Development, Felipe Lopes, said the events allowed the company to share its vision with the industry.

“We are proud to be part of these expos, not just to showcase our work, but to engage with the future of construction and design.

Our subsidiaries play a vital role in expanding our capabilities, and we’re excited to share that story with the public,” he said.

The two expos, recognised as the largest gatherings for construction professionals in Nigeria, brought together hundreds of exhibitors from several countries.

Attendees included the Managing Director of ECOBANK, Bolaji Lawal; the Chairman of oil services company AOS Orwell, Omotayo Fani; the Managing Director of Miele, Mustapha Olorunibe; and the Head of SMEs, Partnerships and Collaboration at ECOBANK, Omoboye Odu.

Julius Berger’s top management and General Managers of its subsidiaries were present throughout the events, engaging industry stakeholders and reinforcing partnerships.
