ROAD CONSTRUCTION projects expanded in Ogun State as new approvals secured for major routes and security upgrades during the latest executive council meeting.
Ogun State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of additional roads across key local government areas, reinforcing the government’s strategic push for consistent infrastructure delivery.
Among the newly sanctioned roads are the 5.4 km Ogbeere – Orita Mobi Junction Road in Ijebu East, the 3.2km Erinlu–Imosan Road in Odogbolu, and the 2.0 km Imodi–Imosan Road, also in Odogbolu.
These approvals came during the council’s weekly deliberation, signalling a continuation of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s statewide development agenda.
Alongside the road initiatives, the council ratified the procurement of advanced security technology to enhance the state’s surveillance capacity and protect public assets.
This move aligns with the administration’s broader plan to modernise security operations and strengthen public safety systems.
Governor Abiodun, who inspected the ongoing work at the Onijaganjagan Independent Power Plant, expressed satisfaction with the pace of progress.
He assured residents in Abeokuta and nearby communities of stable electricity once the plant becomes operational.
Earlier, the governor gave the nod to the reconstruction of eleven critical road projects spanning various regions of the state.
These include the 9.2km Akute Bridge to Agbado route, the 5.5km Iperu Junction to Ilishan Roundabout – linking the Gateway International Airport, and the 4km Imasayi–Igan Okoto–Ayetoro Road, Phase 2B.
