THE BUSTLING industrial hub of Nnewi is set to amplify its digital footprint as it prepares to host the Nnewi Digital Week 2025—an ambitious showcase of innovation, technology, and enterprise from 1 to 4 May.
Organised by the Nnewi Digital Community in partnership with the Nnewi North Local Government, the four-day event promises to highlight the town’s rapid evolution from manufacturing stronghold to tech-driven powerhouse.
A compelling schedule blends factory tours, symposiums, health talks, app launches, and an awards gala—all geared towards igniting digital transformation in the South-East.
Speaking through an official statement, event convener and INNOSON Group’s Director of Corporate Communications, Cornel Osigwe, described the initiative as a platform to celebrate local ingenuity while setting a new pace for regional development.
Kicking off with behind-the-scenes factory visits on 1 May, participants will gain rare insight into the integration of digital systems within some of Nnewi’s leading industrial facilities.
This industrial immersion sets the tone for what organisers call a “transformative journey” into the town’s future-facing vision.
The spotlight then shifts on 2 May to the Nnewi Hotel, where a high-level Digital Symposium will convene key government officials, technology experts, and media voices.
Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, will attend as special guest, while keynote addresses will be delivered by Engr.
Mark Okoye (MD, South-East Development Commission), Hon. Chinwe Okoli (Special Adviser on Innovation), and Prof. Joseph Ugboaja, OON (Chief Medical Director, NAUTH).
Panel discussions are set to explore strategies for regional digitisation, featuring voices like actor and tech advocate Jide Kene Achufusi, journalist Emeka Monye, and digital entrepreneur Tosin Yakubu.
One of the symposium’s highlights will be the unveiling of two major digital products: Buzzy.ng, developed by Buzzy Technology Solutions, and PalmShop App, launched by Freshminds Group—both designed to address local market needs with tech-forward solutions.
The awards segment later that day will honour trailblazers across technology and enterprise. It promises to be a celebration of Nnewi’s brightest minds and its enduring legacy of self-driven innovation.
The event enjoys the backing of the Nnewi Digital Community, the local council, and The Nnewi Hotel, underscoring a unified vision to nurture digital talent and spark investment in the local digital economy.
As Cornel Osigwe stated, “We’re bringing together visionaries, policymakers, and innovators to shape the future of our digital landscape. This is Nnewi’s time to lead.”
