PRESIDENT BOLA Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Nasarawa State’s development drive, promising continued investment in the state’s solid minerals and agricultural sectors.
Speaking during a visit to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad, at the Emir’s Palace, the President praised Governor Abdullahi Sule’s governance style, noting that his prudent resource management has earned both federal trust and investor confidence.
He highlighted Nasarawa’s progress under the current administration and lauded the Emir’s foresight during the 2023 campaigns.
“I am happy to be back here in Nasarawa and to confirm what the Emir told me during the campaigns—that I will return as President of Nigeria,” he said, calling the monarch a “highly far-sighted individual” and “a committed Nigerian of high integrity.”
President Tinubu commended the traditional leadership and security cooperation in Nasarawa, crediting them for the state’s peace and stability.
He reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda remains a central pillar of his presidency, aimed at reshaping the nation’s economy with lasting impact for young Nigerians and future generations.
“We have seen it in Governor Sule,” he added. “We just commissioned an interchange, and he told us he did not borrow a penny for completion.”
Addressing the gathered dignitaries, the President acknowledged the presence and loyalty of the attending governors, stating, “Seeing the governors here is truly an emotional day for me. Thank you for the way you showed up with grace and glory. Thank you for keeping your loyalty intact.”
Earlier, the Emir of Lafia, who also chairs the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, praised the President’s leadership approach and credited him with extending the developmental model seen in Lagos to the federal level. “We were in Lagos during our days at the Court of Appeal.

During his term in office as Governor, we saw how he turned Lagos around,” the monarch said. “You are translating the same into the Nigerian economy, and before you leave office, Nigeria will be great again.”
President Tinubu was received at the Lafia airport by Governor Sule, who led him to the commissioning of major state projects, including a new interchange and flyover in central Lafia, a secretariat complex, new road networks, mechanised farming tractors, and operational vehicles for security agencies.
Present at the ceremony were the governors of Kaduna, Imo, Borno, Ogun, Kwara, and Benue states. Also in attendance were Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake and Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim.
