ENGINEERING FIRMS handling major roadworks across Ogun State have reaffirmed their commitment to delivering durable infrastructure that aligns with government specifications and supports long-term development goals.

The companies acknowledged the scale of the state’s investment in infrastructure and stressed that delivering high-standard projects remains a fundamental aspect of their collaboration with the Ogun State Government.

Speaking from the Ilisan-Akaka-Isara Road project site, Engr. Ifeanyi Ugorji of Still Earth Construction and Realty confirmed that the 12.3-kilometre route is 73 percent complete and progressing on schedule.

He disclosed that the firm is using high-grade materials and advanced construction equipment to ensure lasting outcomes.

He emphasised that work on critical hydraulic components is being prioritised ahead of the rainy season, revealing that 60 percent of the asphalt overlay at the starting section has already been installed.

“We are prioritising the drainage systems because they are essential for protecting the embankment and pavement. Once we finish the drainage, we will begin the earthwork, which is the most critical part of the project.

We aim to complete this project by August,” he stated.

Progress is also underway on the Tam-Balogun, Osinubi, and Obalende-Abeokuta roads in Ijebu-Ode. Engr. Michael Umeh of Fort Hermon Construction confirmed that foundational works, site clearing, excavation, stone base preparation, and drainage installation, have been completed, and asphalting is set to commence.

He noted that while the rainy season poses logistical challenges, the company remains committed to timely, quality delivery.

Hi-Tech Construction’s site supervisor, Ghassan Moussa, provided updates on Phase 2 of the Sagamu-Iperu-Ode-Saapade project.

He revealed that over 60 percent of the roadwork has been completed. Expansion on both flanks is underway, with the stone base and asphalting stages to follow.

“We are extending both sides of the road, after which we will lay the stone base and commence asphalting. I assure you that we will deliver a quality job,” Moussa said.

On the Akute-Ijoko axis, Craneburg site supervisor, Engr. Michael Akam, reported the completion of 500 metres of excavation and announced the imminent commencement of drainage works on both sides of the road.

He reiterated the company’s national reputation for delivering excellence in public infrastructure.

The contractors, in all, maintained a unified stance on quality assurance, sustainability, and timely execution, reflecting ongoing efforts by Ogun State to transform its road network and boost regional development.
